		<description>Sam - I just look for domestic shrimp and avoid anything imported. Oregon pink shrimp, Maine shrimp, and Florida shrimp (and, of course, West Coast spot prawns if you can find them) are all well managed fisheries, as far as I know.</description>

Since shrimp is notoriously unsustainable in terms of the amount of by-catch, I try to be extra careful when buying it. 

Often times the type of farming isn&#039;t specified so I find the MBA list to be of not much help when at the fish market.
