These sound amazing. I'm doing a new recipe roundup for EcoSalon and am including this one in the inaugural column. Where have you been? So mysteriously absent from social media these days. At least I know you're ok because you're eating well! Are you going to IACP? I hope to see you.

We drove from Santa Monica to San Diego in February, and stopped first at the SM farmers' market to pick up snacks. Got some kumquats, and a big bag of super-sweet Halawy dates. We spent the whole car ride switching between the two for that tart-sweet combo -- first a date (spit out the pit), then a kumquat (spit out the seeds). Pretty much the perfect 1-2 punch.

I still need someone to teach me how to "put stuff up." I thought I'd start canning last summer, but I never did. I need a canning babysitter.
