Glad to help, Cheryl! Hog Island is amazing - Jetty Fishery is a bit more, um, rustic? Down home? But really really fun, too. I hope you get a chance to check it out!

Thanks for the location info. I just moved to Portland after years in San Francisco. I was lamenting the loss of Hog Island Oyster Co the other day wanting to do something like that up here! It looks like a blast.

Oh god, Dungeness crab. When I was growing up, every summer my family would rent a house on the Oregon coast, gather a motley crew of relatives and friends, and spend a day crabbing. One year we caught 37 keepers. So wonderful.

Wow - what an oversight! It was at Jetty Fishery (http://www.jettyfishery.com/) outside of Wheeler, Oregon.

Oh, we used to do this in the summer with our Oregon relatives. We used to catch our own first, even. Where did you go?
