Christmas 2007, my husband's parents' house. His dad pitches a fit because the grandkids, who have been asked to serve themselves, take all white meat from the turkey. Dad yells at SIL that she is a bad mother, how dare the kids take all white meat, when HE was a kid, etc, etc, SIL almost leaves, lots of drama, I take a xanax. Did I mention that even with the grandkids taking just white meat that there was still more than enough white meat for everyone to have His Share and still have leftovers?

Thanksgiving 2008, same location. Husband's dad muses that he has never liked the white meat. SIL and I kick each other under the table and look at each other in disbelief.
